21 Sanctuaries, 5 Months, 1 Mother-Daughter Duo
Erica Tworog-Dube and her then three-year-old daughter, Ariana, had a mission: to complete the Passport to Nature booklet, a fun way to explore 21 of Mass Audubon’s wildlife sanctuaries.
They succeeded in an impressive five months.

Ready to guess another Mass Audubon wildlife sanctuary?
While most visitors take the path toward the boardwalk over the marsh at this wildlife sanctuary, if you take a right past the nature center (pictured in the distance) you will arrive at this path. Once flat grass, the new packed-gravel makes this short trail, which ends at a meadow overlook, fully accessible for wheelchairs, strollers, and the like.
The 12 Most Exciting Bird-a-thon Sightings
More than 700 birders on 24 teams participated in this year's Bird-a-thon, recording a total of 270 species of birds. That’s only 1 species away from the Bird-a-thon record set in 2009.
