Winter Open House at Wachusett Meadow
Saturday, January 19, 1-4pm
Ice Cutting Wildlife Pond
Try out this historical ice saw, a tool used to harvest ice from lakes and ponds before the days of refrigeration.


Wachusett Meadow is beautiful in winter. Join us for fun outdoor activities in this thousand acre winter wonderland!

Snow or Not. Registration not required.
Fees and Storm Date

  • Try Snowshoeing (we provide the snowshoes free of charge or bring your own)
  • Sled (we'll provide the sleds - please leave yours at home)
  • Ice skate (if conditions permit - bring your skates)
  • Cross-country ski on select trails
  • Watch old-fashioned ice cutting on Wildlife Pond
  • Play games
  • Go on a tracking hike
  • Enjoy hot chocolate and s'mores
  • and much more!

1. Take a snowshoeing program!
Snowshoeing is a fun way to experience the winter trails, get great exercise, and look for animal tracks and signs. A guided snowshoe program with a naturalist makes the experience extra special. Find out more:
