Broad Meadow Brook
Wachusett Meadow .
Broad Meadow Brook has a new bird on the block! Large oval holes like these have been showing up for the past year, clues that a crow-sized woodpecker was on the sanctuary. Finally, the bird was spotted for the first time last month by a visitor. You'll find this tree, and maybe a pileated woodpecker, along Lady Slipper Trail.
The bobcat on Wachusett Meadow's pins and passport was not selected randomly. Bobcats are resident and regular at Wachusett Meadow. Visitors can expect to see abundant tracks when we have snow and fairly routine sightings in the vicinity of South Meadow toward dusk.
