Amy and Andy
May 10 and 11 over 25 teams from all over Massachusetts will compete to identify the most species of birds in a 24 hour period. Bird-a-thon is a reminder of the variety and abundance of wildlife that surrounds us and our responsibility to preserve their habitats.
This year, Andrew and I are participating in Bird-a-thon because we believe in the importance of protecting the nature of Massachusetts for people and wildlife. We support Mass Audubon’s efforts to protect and steward the environment of Massachusetts through conservation, education, and advocacy. We're birding the South Shore, Plymouth and Miles Standish, Burrage Pond and, new this year, Shifting Lots, hoping for some semi-rarities and perhaps a look at those magical Saw-whet owls! Despite not winning last year Drumlin's team is up for the competition and planning a comeback!
