On May 11-12, over 750 people from all over Massachusetts will focus on nature by participating in Mass Audubon’s annual Bird-a-thon fundraiser.
The centerpiece of Bird-a-thon is a 24-hour birding competition where teams representing different Mass Audubon sanctuaries and programs attempt to identify the most species of birds in a 24-hour period. Bird-a-thon serves as a reminder of the variety and abundance of wildlife that surrounds us and our responsibility to preserve their habitats.
In the past, this annual statewide fundraiser has helped Joppa Flats Education Center buy vans, educational displays, and much-needed materials. It has also provided needed funding for programs like custom environmental education for school children, continuing adult education in birding and avian biology, and the ever-popular summer camp.
Once again, I am raising money for Joppa Flats' Bird-a-thon because I believe in the importance of protecting the nature of Massachusetts for people and wildlife. I support Mass Audubon’s efforts to protect and steward the environment of Massachusetts through conservation, education, and advocacy.
Please join me in supporting this important work by making a donation through my personal fundraising page. Joppa Flats and I will very much appreciate whatever donation you can make, no matter how big or how small. To contribute to Bird-a-thon, simply make a tax-deductible gift right now. Many thanks for your consideration, participation, and your support! If you have any questions, please call me -- and thanks.
