Carol's Bird-a-thon Page
As Sanctuary Director at the Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary, I will be racing against the clock on May 12-13, counting birds over a 24-hour period to raise money to support our education and conservation programs. I will happily miss my sleep to raise needed dollars to support these important endeavors. Bird-a-thon is our most important fundraiser and supports the sanctuary on so many levels.
Your gift will support trail maintenance and conservation projects at Ipswich River as well as seven North Shore sanctuaries, from Nahant Thicket to Eastern Point Wildlife Sanctuary in Gloucester under our management.
It will help us connect more children and adults to nature. Whether it is our programs for school children, our summer day camp programs or a barn full of kids and a parent on a Saturday morning pounding nails to construct a bluebird box, the opportunity of real hands-on nature learning experiences is critical. These are the only chances some children have to be outdoors – to be in touch with real living things.
Lucky for you, you can help in this hugely important fundraiser from the comfort of your home by simply pushing a button.
