Robert's Fundraising Page
From May 11-12, over 750 people from all over Massachusetts will focus on nature by participating in Mass Audubon’s annual Bird-a-thon fundraiser.
I am raising money for Science and Bird Conservation at Mass Audubon. This will support our work in the conservation of birds, amphibians, plants, and other aspects of the wonderful biodiversity of Massachusetts. We work closely with Mass Audubon's sanctuaries to insure that they are managed based on the best available science. This includes carrying out surveys to determine the status of different species, designing and implementing management measures based on thse assessments, and working with sanctuaries to adapt to our changing climate. We also work with statewide partners to insure the conservation of vulnerable species and natural communities across the state.
As you know, Bird-a-thon is a 24-hour competition where teams representing different Mass Audubon sanctuaries and programs attempt to identify the most species of birds in a 24-hour period. It is a friendly competition but its real purpose is to serve as a reminder of the variety and abundance of wildlife that surrounds us and our responsibility to preserve their habitats. Of course you would be welcome to join us for any part of the day.
I work for and am raising money for Mass Audubon during our Bird-a-Thon fundraiser because I believe in the importance of protecting the nature of Massachusetts for people and wildlife.
Please join me in supporting this important work by making a donation through my personal fundraising page.
