From May 11-12, over 750 people from all over Massachusetts will focus on nature by participating in Mass Audubon’s annual Bird-a-thon fundraiser.
The centerpiece of Bird-a-thon is a 24-hour birding competition where teams representing different Mass Audubon sanctuaries and programs attempt to identify the most species of birds in a 24-hour period. Bird-a-thon serves as a reminder of the variety and abundance of wildlife that surrounds us and our responsibility to preserve their habitats.
This year, I am raising money for Bird-a-thon because I believe in the importance of protecting the nature of Massachusetts for people and wildlife. I support Mass Audubon’s efforts to protect and steward the environment of Massachusetts through conservation, education, and advocacy.
I am writing to you once again to encourage you to donate to Mass Audubon South Shore Sanctuaries as we engage in our annual Bird-a-thon, from 6 p.m. on May 11 to 6 p.m. on May 12, seeking to identify (in Plymouth County) more birds than any other Audubon group.
If you choose to donate (still tax-deductible), go to the following site. Please be sure to indicate that you are donating to South Shore Sanctuaries on my behalf.
Thanks. Please join me in supporting this important work by making a donation through my personal fundraising page.
