Steve's Bird-a-thon 2019 Fundraising Page
On May 10th and 11th I will be participating in MA Audubon's 2019 Bird-a-thon fundraising competition. This event helps to raise important funds to support local sanctuaries and their efforts to protect the environment. My team will be birding in the Hanson, Halifax and Pembroke areas of Plymouth county as part of the larger South Shore Sanctuaries team.
Our sanctuary team goal this year is to raise $15,500 for the Daniel Webster Wildlife Sanctuary Stewardship Fund. Daniel Webster encompasses over 600 acres of varied wildlife habitats and is considered an important bird area in Southeastern Massachusetts. The open fields provide critical nesting opportunities for American Kestrels, Bobolinks and Eastern Bluebirds among many other species. In addition the Sanctuary provides an important stop over point for migrating species.
I am participating in Bird-a-thon because I believe in the importance of protecting the nature of Massachusetts for people and wildlife. I support Mass Audubon’s efforts to protect and steward the environment of Massachusetts through conservation, education, and advocacy.
Please join me in supporting the work at the South Shore Sanctuary by making a donation through my personal fundraising page.
