Support Darcy and Ryan in the 2020 Mass Audubon Bird-a-thon!
Darcy and I will be raising money for the Drumlin Farm Team again this year as part of the Massachusetts Audubon Society 2020 Bird-a-thon on May 15 and 16. This is our 14th year raising money to support habitat preservation and wildlife education in Massachusetts!
Because of COVID-19, it’s a whole new ballgame this year. The event has been structured to focus on local birdwatching and family activities. We’ll still be trying to spot as many species as we can within a 24 hour period, but we’ll be doing it all within walking distance of our home in Somerville. We’ll have our fingers crossed for urban vagrants and surprising fly-overs! We’re still planning route, but we’ll likely hike several miles in our urban habitat and will try to hit the Mystic River and some of the fantastic parks in our neighborhood. And who knows what we’ll find in our own backyard???
We’ll do our best to spot as many species as we can! And we’ll be sure to keep you updated via Instagram and Facebook!
The funds we raise will support preservation of wildlife habitat in Massachusetts, land-use research, summer camp programs at Drumlin Farm (including scholarships), owl/songbird migratory research, citizen science projects, advocacy programs, and educational programs/materials for children and adults.
If you would prefer to donate by check or cash just let us know and we can arrange it.
Thank you for your support and tweet tweet!
