Coach Pistrang Likes Birds
On May 10-11 2019 I will be joining hundreds of people across Massachusetts to raise money for Mass Audubon.
This annual Bird-a-thon fundraiser is a 24-hour birding competition where teams representing different Mass Audubon sanctuaries and programs attempt to identify the most species of birds in a 24-hour period. I will start birding at 6:00pm on Friday, may take a few hours off to sleep when not hunting for owls and whip-poor-wills, and then will wake up and drive through the dark to reach a prime birding location on the coast before dawn. This year I'm confident that I will find and identify more than 100 species, and hope to raise at least $1000 in the process.
As in the past, I am raising money for Wachusett Meadow because I believe in the importance of protecting the nature of Massachusetts and we have a wonderful sanctuary right in Princeton that does just that. I have always supported Mass Audubon’s efforts to protect the environment through conservation, education, and advocacy.
Please join me in supporting this important work by making a donation through my personal fundraising page.
