Patty's Birdathon Page
On May 10 and 11, I will be joining more than 750 others from all over Massachusetts who will be participating in a Birdathon, a 24-hour birding marathon sponsored by Massachusetts Audubon to raise funds to support Audubon properties throughout Massachusetts. I will be competing with other birders from Trailside and other sanctuaries to identify as many species as possible in Massacusetts within the 24 hour period.
I will be raising funds for the Blue Hills Trailside Museum in Milton which as usual is sorely in need of funds. Because the property is owned by the state it depends on the state for a major portion of its budget. Massachusetts Audubon provides operating support but does not provide funding. This year the birdathon will be dedicated to the memory of David Whipple, a young man who tragically lost his life in an auto accident earlier this year. David was a prolific fund-raiser for Trailside along with his mother, Carol Gladstone. Trailside depends in major part on the generosity of people like you to be able to continue its mission. Each year, Trailside operates 100s of STEM programs for local schools, while director Norman Smith continues with his Snowy Owl and raptor research.
Every penny you donate counts. Please help Trailside to keep its doors open.
You can donate by clicking on the link below to my personal page and find the donate button on the upper right. Or if you prefer you can send a check made out to Blue Hills Trailside Museum to me at 252 Thacher St., Milton, MA 02186.
And let me know if you would like to join a birding team or set up your own fund-raising page. Or just click the link.
Thank you very much for your support.
