It's Bird-a-thon time again and as usual I'm late to get my fundrasising started but this is truly a better late than never scenario. I hope that you will make a donation to our annual efforts on behalf of the birds.
Mass Audubon's groundbreaking "State-of-the-Birds" report found that many bird species in decline are those associated with agricultural landscapes - shrub lands, grasslands, and field edges. The report indicates that, as these mostly agrarian landscapes have dwindled, the birds that use them are in steep decline. If you’re interested, go to http://www.massaudubon.org/StateoftheBirds/ to check out the report.
Drumlin Farm not only actively maintains and monitors agarian and shrubland habitats but our educational programs reach thousands of adults, students, and families every year. Experiencing and learning about the world we live in is the first step to caring and developing our individual conservation ethic. The world is a wild and beautiful place and Drumlin Farm is one not so small effort to maintain and understand it.
The birds and all of us that are committed to protecting and enhancing our wildlife habitats for the future appreciate your generosity.
Thank you, Tia
