Jan's Bird-a-thon Funding Page
From May 10-11, over 750 people from all over Massachusetts will focus on nature by participating in Mass Audubon’s annual Bird-a-thon fundraiser.
Bird-a-thon is a 24-hour fun and friendly birding competition. Not only do wildlife sanctuaries compete statewide to see whose team can spot the most bird species, but they also vie to see which team can raise the most money for important education and conservation programs.
I am so excited to be participating in this process for the third time! Cape Cod is such a beautiful but fragile environment and needs to be protected. Massachusetts Audubon's Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary not only works to keep the local waters clean and healthy, it also delivers science education directly into elementary and middle school classrooms across the Cape, inspiring the next generation to appreciate and care for the environment. The money raised through the Bird-a-thon also supports various citizen science projects that monitor, rescue, and protect several species of birds and wildlife; and into the sanctuary’s bird banding research station.
Please join me in supporting this important work by making a donation through my personal fundraising page. Thank you in advance for your support!
