I know you have been waiting...quietly, calmly and patiently. Like a birder stalking the return of the spring migrants, you have been waiting for my periennial Bird-a-thon fundraising page to appear. Well, fear no more - IT'S HERE!
I am even later than I have been in previous years getting my fundraising efforts in gear.
As I said last year, I go to work every day to raise money so that the rock stars at Mass Audubon can do their magic and protect land, provide enviormental education and conduct sound science that informs our advocacy and conservation work. I am a lucky girl.
But, lots of people have said to me in the midst the climate crisis that they don't know what to do - how they can make a difference. Well, here is one answer - contribute to Bird-a-thon and know that your money is going to an organization that can and will have a positive impact. We've been doing it for over 100 years and no one is going to stop us :-)
By supporting BAT you are saying "I believe in the importance of protecting the nature of Massachusetts for people and wildlife. I support Mass Audubon’s efforts to protect and steward the environment through conservation, education, and advocacy. And, I make a difference!"
I hope I can count on you - and thank you!!!
Heres the fine print for anyone who doesn't know what Bird-a-thon is: The centerpiece of Bird-a-thon is a 24-hour birding competition where teams representing different Mass Audubon sanctuaries and programs attempt to identify the most species of birds in a 24-hour period. Bird-a-thon serves as a reminder of the variety and abundance of wildlife that surrounds us and our responsibility to preserve their habitats. From May 12-13, over 750 people from all over Massachusetts will focus on nature by participating in this annual fundraiser.
