Cardinal's Bird-a-thon 2019
Thank you for visiting my Bird-a-thon fundraising page.
I will be birding with my mom and her work friends to raise money during Mass Audubon's Bird-a-thon. On Saturday May 11, we will start early in the morning and bird all day through 6pm. It is a long day! I got a harness so my binoculars will be easier to carry this year. I hope I get to see small colorful warblers in the bushes and trees in the morning, I always search for and find my favorite- cardinals, and at the ocean I look for ducks, loons and herons.
Brid-a-thon is a 24-hour fundraising event during which teams from all divisions of Mass Audubon count as many Massachusetts bird species as possible in a friendly competition. We raise money for important conservation programs and have fun outdoors! We specifically support Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary in Natick, where my mom has worked for over 15 years now.
Our feathered friends in Massachusetts depend on you to provide funding to support our sanctuaries! At Broadmoor, conservation protects vital bird nesting habitat (forest, wetlands, and meadows) and education programs connect people of all ages to nature. Mass Audubon does so much more too, from working with staff on Beacon hill to help shape and pass laws that protect critical habitat and curb actions that contribute to climate change, to establishing conservation restrictions on land that serves as important wildlife corridors for migrating species.
I appreciate your support and hope you will make a donation of any amount!
Thank you and have a good day!
