Everyone knows how much I LOVE nature!
This started as a young child when I spent my days exploring the pockets of nature I could find in my suburban neighborhood. This love grew through my many years of sleepaway camp, and was solidified during my 2 year graduate program "On the Bus," as I traveled thorugh North America on school bus, studying and learning about the natural and cultural history of various bioregions to earn my MS in Environmental Education.
I feel privileged to now live in such a scenic part of the county - the Berkshires - and to be raising two budding naturalists and environmentalists, who are growing up to love, respect, and protect nature as much as I do.
Anyone who has ever visited the Berkshires knows how beautiful this place is. I'm honored to be part of an incredible organization, Mass Audubon Berkshire Wildlife Sanctuaries, that has been helping people fall in love with nature – the woods, meadows, waters and wildlife that inhabit them - for 90 years! We know that when people love something, they want to take care of it. And we all know that nature desperately needs more people to care for it.
With your support we can help even more people fall in love with nature by:
• offering nearly 50 free bird walks throughout Berkshire County
• supporting local interns and volunteers in important citizen science projects in the Berkshires, including monitoring nest boxes and conducting grassland bird counts
• connecting students in our in-school Berkshire Environmental Literacy program to their local ecosystem and inspiring a lifelong passion for protection of the natural world
• protecting critical habitat for birds and other wildlife
Thanks for supporting an organization that I care deeply about and that is doing great work to support humans and natural communities the Berkshires.
