South Shore Sanctuaries
The South Shore Sanctuaries’ Bird-a-thon team is at it again! On May 12-13, we’ll be birding during the 2017 Bird-a-thon to raise funds for South Shore Sanctuaries, have fun, and find the most bird species possible in a 24-hour period. Our team has decided to bird only in Plymouth County to be sensitive to the impact that driving has on our environment. Here at South Shore Sanctuaries, we are participating in Bird-a-thon because we believe in the importance of protecting the nature of Massachusetts for people and wildlife. From the grasslands of Daniel Webster Wildlife Sanctuary to our amazing coastal habitats to the salt marshes and forests, the South Shore hosts a wide variety of habitats and each is important. We are raising funds to steward wildlife habitat and provide opportunities for people of all ages to connect with nature. Each year we:
· Manage over 2,000 acres of wildlife habitat on the South Shore
· Provide school programs in 8 local communities
· Host over 4,500 visitors of all abilities at our South Shore Sanctuaries
Please join us in supporting this important work by making a donation through our team’s fundraising page, or if you have a personal connection to one of our team members – check out their participant page.
