Thank You for Investing in Nature

Adventure Trek

On Thursday, July 14, the Massachusetts House of Representatives took an extraordinary step when it passed a sweeping “Economic Development” bill that contains $300 million in investments in open space, recreation, ecological restoration, and climate adaptation out of available federal COVID relief funds.

Mass Audubon members like you have been pushing for these investments for over a year, including by participating in a successful “Beacon Hill Lobby Day” in June, and the House has responded!

We are not done yet! We need your voice once again: Thank your State Representative for supporting these investments.

Thank you for investing in nature

Dear [Decision Maker],

Thank you for your support of the investments in nature and climate that are contained in the House Economic Development bill. As your constituent and a Mass Audubon advocate, I'm proud to have a State Representative who is committed to climate and environmental protection.

I am excited specifically about the House bill prioritizing investments in open space and climate adaptation in environmental justice communities, which will bear the brunt of the effects of climate change, and which have been disproportionately impacted by COVID-19.

This would address historic under-investment in the environment, help realize public health benefits, mitigate climate change, and stimulate the economy, among several important co-benefits.

Thank you again for your support.

Sincerely,
