On August 11, Governor Baker propelled Massachusetts forward in the fight against climate change by signing An Act driving clean energy and offshore wind into law.
This bill was the culmination of months of hard work from our legislative leaders, led by Senator Barrett and Representative Roy as well as by Speaker Mariano and Senate President Spilka, and ultimately passed in both the state House and Senate with overwhelming and bipartisan support.
It’s this kind of legislative action that Massachusetts desperately needs, not only to ramp up clean energy production and reduce our reliance on fossil fuels, but to position us as leaders and set an example for the rest of the country.
Our work is not done yet. We need to thank Governor Baker and our legislators for their incredible work and encourage them to keep climate and nature front and center!
