Bird-a-thon has been Mass Audubon's largest annual fundraiser since 1983. But this year's event is particularly special because we're celebrating Mass Audubon's 125th anniversary! Founded in 1896 by two Boston women who used their voices to stop the slaughter of birds for fashion, Mass Audubon has been an independent organization at the forefront of conservation for the last 125 years.

During Bird-a-thon weekend, all teams will compete head-to-head in two ways—by earning points from birding and nature activities, AND by birding in strategic sub-groups in an effort to identify the greatest number of bird species in 24 hours. Check out the updated rules and guidelines.

So whether you decide to register for the fun of it or for the thrill of competition, you can help your team raise money that will support Mass Audubon's mission to protect the nature of Massachusetts for another 125 years.
