I am excited to be involved with Bird-a-thon again this year, for the North Shore team. With your wonderful support last year we were able to make our $50,000 goal. Can we count on your help again, so we can reach that amount again this year?

Bird-a-thon will be held May 12th to 13th, when teams from all over Massachusetts will collectively focus on finding as many bird species as possible and/or complete other fun, nature-based activities from their home. Some of the important work Bird-a-thon supports includes: 1) education for all ages through birding programs, nature-based classes, and summer camp; 2) expanding outreach to urban areas and schools, and; 3) work to improve habitats and increase coastal resilience.  I recently saw a video clip of the tidal march shore line near the Joppa Flats center from 20 years ago.  It was distressing to see how much degradation has occurred over that time.  That area is one of the areas where Mass Audubon is working to improve and restore the habitat to give it more coastal resilience.
