Personal Fundraising Page
On Friday and Saturday, May 14 and 15, all of us at Mass Audubon celebrate Bird-a-thon, a rite of spring and always our most important fundraising event.
During this event, teams representing Mass Audubon across the state recruit team members to participate in the fun, while also raising funds to support Mass Audubon's work protecting the nature of Massachusetts. The North Shore team will be birding across the state in competition for the Brewster Cup, and in Essex County only in competition for the County Cup, all to benefit Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary, Joppa Flats Education Center, Endicott Wildlife Sanctuary, and the many unstaffed properties of of Essex County that our regional group cares for .
This year is particularly special because Mass Audubon is celebrating its 125th anniversary! The organization was founded in 1896 by two Boston women who used their voices to stop the slaughter of birds for fashion. Now, in 2021, Mass Audubon remains an independent organization at the forefront of conservation.
Why I'm Participating
I support Bird-a-thon because I am deeply committed to Mass Audubon's mission. Everyone I know at this organization works really hard to profoundly engage people who care about Massachusetts in the importance of protecting nature for the benefit of people and wildlife. I like to think we're pretty good at succeeding in our mission.
Please support Mass Audubon and the North Shore team's important work by donating to Bird-a-thon. Enjoy this spring's migration, and thank you!
