If you're reading this, you've survived the pandemic, so far. Don't let up now! Get vaccinated, if you can, and continue to practice safe social distancing, including wearing that damned mask. Trust me...none of us like it.
Also, if you're reading this, I'd like to remind you that the annual Bird-a-Thon fundraiser for Mass Audubon is coming up soon. On May 14-15, we'll be at it again, hoping the warblers fall out of the sky like they did last year. What an amazing BAT it was!
For anyone not familiar with BAT, here's what you need to know: The centerpiece of Bird-a-thon is a 24-hour birding competition where teams representing different Mass Audubon sanctuaries and programs attempt to identify the most species of birds in a 24-hour period. Bird-a-thon serves as a reminder of the variety and abundance of wildlife that surrounds us and our responsibility to preserve their habitats.
We are raising money for Bird-a-thon because we believe in the importance of protecting the nature of Massachusetts for people and wildlife. We support Mass Audubon’s efforts to protect and steward the environment of Massachusetts through conservation, education, and advocacy, and we're going to have to come back to normal at some point. Let's provide this great scientific organization the funds it needs to do the work we all need.
I'd like to ask you for another donation, please. Small or large, it doesn't matter. This pandemic has challenged all of us in ways we've never thought possible. Who knew there'd be a run on toilet paper or that after a few weeks of falling, the stock market would pretend the pandemic wasn't a thing. If you can donate something, I'd appreciate it. If you can't, let me know if I can help you. My goal is high, this year, and entirely attainable with your help. Please consider donating to this cause.
Please join me in supporting this important work by making a donation through my personal fundraising page. Thank you!
