We're Birding for Bucks again!
Bird-a-thon is a competition for teams of birders who fan out across the state to identify and count bird species. It is also a major fundraising event for Mass Audubon.
Rob and I have been birding for Gordon's Gaggle, the Mass Audubon headquarters' team, for a number of years. Since I retired in May of 2020, our birding efforts have been hampered by circumstances beyond our control. In 2020 the pandemic rules stipulated we could only count species within walking distance from your house. Last year we had to drive to Connecticut to meet our new puppy pulling us out of Massachusetts, and the competition, for most of the day. This year we plan an all-out effort to increase our total!
Mass Audubon continues to help protect the nature of Massachusetts through land conservation, environmental advocacy and education, and that mission keeps us birding for bucks every year!
Thank you for supporting out efforts!
