Peggy's Bird-a-thon Appeal
Thank you for visiting my Bird-a-thon page!
It’s official: After a year of handwashing (and hand-wringing), mask wearing, social distancing, and Zooming, there’s LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL!
Through my spotting scope, I see birds – and hope – on the horizon. In fact, in my mind, “hope” and “birds” are almost synonymous. As the birds return from their wintering grounds, their minds are focused on finding a mate, building a nest, breeding, and successfully raising a clutch of chicks. What could be more hopeful than that annual cycle? Especially when birds face of so many threats: food shortages, predators, loss of habitat, freak weather events. . . . Even in “normal” times, birds need our help to survive.
That’s why I’m participating in Bird-a-thon again this year: to raise money for Mass Audubon so that they can continue their important work of protecting nature and wildlife. If you’ve taken to nature in the past year to relax, exercise, or just escape from four walls, I hope you will support me. The money we raise will protect the peace and beauty of our wildlife sanctuaries, support high quality educational programming for all ages, and fund conservation projects critical to the protection of our local wildlife. Your contribution makes this work possible!
Thanks in advance for your support!
