Gene Ellison "The Birding Machine"
On the weekend of May 14 & 15, Gene "The Birding Machine" Ellison along with many other Nature & Wildlife Heroes from all over Massachusetts will celebrate their passion for the outdoors by participating in Mass Audubon's annual Bird-a-thon fundraiser !
During this fun weekend, teams representing different Mass Audubon wildlife sanctuaries or statewide programs recruit bird enthusiasts like Gene to participate in the fun while also raising important funds to support Mass Audubon's work protecting wildlife and the nature of Massachusetts.
This year is particularly special, because Mass Audubon is celebrating its 125th anniversary! The organization was founded in 1896 by two Boston women who used their voices to stop the slaughter of birds for fashion. Now, in 2021, Mass Audubon remains an independent organization at the forefront of conservation.
Why Is Gene Participating ?
I am excited to participate in this year's Bird-a-thon because I believe that Wildlife & Nature need heroes NOW more than ever. Kate and I have annually been supporting Mass Audubon's efforts to profoundly engage the residents of Massachusetts in the importance of protecting nature for the benefit of people and wildlife..
Please support me and Mass Audubon's important work by making a donation through this page. My thanks to you ! Happy Birding !
