Macie Broussard's Bird-a-thon Fundraising Page!
Hello Friends and Family,
On May 14th and 15th I will be participating in Mass Audubon's annual Bird-a-thon fundraiser. Over the course of the two days I will spend 24 hours birding around coastal Massachusetts in an attempt to see as many bird species as possible.
I am participating in this event as a team member of Mass Audubon's Conservation Science Department. Over the past few months in this department I have seen and participated in the management and restoration of important habitats for bird and other wildlife species. We have removed invasives and planted native species for salt marsh migration, removed man-made structures to establish Diamondback Terrapin nesting habitat, and many other amazing projects!
This year is particularly special, because Mass Audubon is celebrating its 125th anniversary! The organization was founded in 1896 by two Boston women who used their voices to stop the slaughter of birds for fashion. Now, in 2021, Mass Audubon remains an independent organization at the forefront of conservation.
Please consider supporting me and Mass Audubon's important work by making a donation through this page. Thank you!
