Welcome to the South East Bird-a-thon Team!

We are a group of passionate individuals from across Southeastern Massachusetts, some who are avid birders and others that are just starting out on our birding adventures. What we all have in common is our shared interest in protecting the nature of Massachusetts.

This year, the South East Team has set a goal to raise $20,000! Our fundraising priorities are focused around advancing projects across the South East that are aligned with our ambitious Action Agenda Goals: Resilient LandscapesInclusive and Equitable Access to Nature and Climate Change. With your help, we will create impact in these three core areas across Southeastern Massachusetts.

Did you know?

Massachusetts is home to half of the worlds "Atlantic" Piping Plover population? During the summer months, Mass Audubon Staff monitor and help ensure the success of this incredible species! In the South East we cover beaches across the south shore and south coast, including at our own Allens Pond Wildlife sanctuary which is home to 1.3% of the global population!

Example of what your gift makes possible:

$20 allows us to build a nest box for Eastern Bluebirds.

$50 supports the monitoring of a Piping Plover

nest for the season.

Did you know?

Mass Audubon is committed to increasing accessibility to Nature. In the South East, with over 132,000 feet of trails on our sanctuaries, we have more accessible trails than anywhere else in the state! Help continue to build and maintain these trails so everyone can enjoy access to nature.

Example of what your gift makes possible:

$25 ensures 25 feet of accessible trails are properly maintained.

Did you know?

Each summer, hundreds of kids have the experience of a lifetime at one of our Nature Camps! Help ensure every child that wishes to experience the friendships, community, confidence and connection to nature that takes place at summer camp has the opportunity to do so at our Oak Knoll or North River Nature Camp this summer.

Example of what your gift makes possible:

$100 provides a child the experience of

Nature Camp for one day.

$500 allows a child to experience

Nature Camp for one week.

You can support our team, or a specific team member, by making a donation through this secure fundraising website.

Bird-a-thon is open to everyone. People with ambitious fundraising goals and those that will ask just a few friends for $10, $25, or $50 all play a vital role.  Birders of all levels can help us spot species May 13-14. Click Join Team to register and help us meet our fundraising and birding goals.

Thank you for helping us raise essential funds for our region and cheering us on while we have some fun birding too!

With gratitude,

Your South East Bird-a-thon Team
